I had to leave the house to run some errands today so I decided to try the new brunch place that opened up in my neighborhood. The reviews either loved it or hated it, with no clear consensus on anything so I had to try it out for myself. I'm glad I did, too. It was the perfect beginning to a busy day of bopping around stores.
The atmosphere was loud, but it wasn't abrasive. It made the conversations between the table feel more intimate despite being only a foot away from the next group. The DJ (yeah, they had a live DJ) kept the mood lounge like with a steady beat.
The bottles of water placed at each table were ice cold. The menu was specific, but you can still custom make your own plate if you wanted to. I tried the Honey Do cocktail and the Waffle Sliders. My companion also decided Waffle was the correct decision for the day. Service was attentive - our water carafe got replaced before it was empty without us even asking.
The cocktail came out in a tall flute, exactly what one wants out of a brunch drink. It was sweet and bubbly, a great deviation from the usual mimosa profile. Next time a flight of flavors might be in order to compare them all. For science, of course.
It wasn't too long before we were served plates that made our faces light up.
The waffle was thick and fluffy. My sliders were the perfect mix of savory and sweet. I've never had a waffle slider keep the powdered sugar dusted over the top but I'm a huge fan of it now. The eggs were soft and the bacon had the perfect bite.
I lamented not ordering the cinnamon bites but was also stuffed full and couldn't have possibly eaten anything else - they'll have to be a reason to return. An everlasting Experience, indeed.
